The MSA 220 TC-O is STHL’s most powerful cordless top-handle saw to date. This professional arborist saw is ideal for removing pieces of trunk, crown correction, or removing dead wood.
The TC-O model features an oil sensor on an LED display which gives the user a warning when the chain oil level is low. It also has an electronic trigger system with an unlock button for simple saw activation, which leads to easy operation.
LED display on the top handle also shows information on the operating status of the chainsaw as well as the chain break position.
With an easy-to-clean air filter for long service life and optimum engine cooling, excellent cutting performance, side-mounted chain tensioning, tool-free oil tank cap, captive nut on the sprocket cover.
Working time with recommended AP 300 S battery is up to 29 minutes. Must be used with AP 300 S or AP 500 S battery for full performance.

Thanks to the electronic operating system with status LED and the mechanical chain brake , also with status LED, operation is particularly intuitive. The LEDs are combined in a cockpit with a 180° display , so that you are quickly informed about the status of your tree care saw at all times .

The sturdy metal claw stop fixes the saw to the wood, making it particularly easy for you to make precise cuts. In addition, the claw stop can be quickly replaced.
The cooling air is cleaned by a fleece filter so that electronics and engine parts are protected in the long term. The cooling air filter can be cleaned quickly and efficiently.
If the load is very high or if the battery is empty, the power electronics automatically reduce the current and thus the torque by de-rating. This allows you to usually complete a cut while other saws are already shutting down in a similar situation.
All cordless tools in the STIHL AP system are designed for professional users and for everyday use, even in adverse weather conditions. The devices also have protection against splashing water from all sides, which has been proven in internal tests. The splash water protection of the STIHL MSA 220 T, which has already been proven in internal tests, has also been certified according to the IPX4 protection class.

Intuitive controls and a bright LED display
The MSA 300 features intuitive controls and a bright LED display. Three speed settings limit the chain speed to 20, 24 or 30 m/s, meaning the user can maximise battery life when completing less intensive tasks such as snedding or brashing. Status of the chain brake and temperature warnings are also displayed in red.
Side chain tensioner
The tensioning screw can be found on the side of the chain saw through the sprocket cover. This removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain.
Captive nuts
When changing the cutting attachment, you will not risk losing the nuts on the sprocket.
Fleece filter
The fleece filter in our new MSA 300 guarantees consistent performance – even in extreme conditions. Its extraordinarily finepored filter material keeps even very fine dust and dirt away from the power electronics and electric motor. To clean it, remove the fleece filter and spray it with STIHL Varioclean, briefly leaving it to work before rinsing out with warm water and letting the filter dry. Then it is ready to use again.
Fold-out hook
The fold-out hook serves as a carrying rope attachment for lowering the arborist saw and for security. When it is pushed in, the hook doesn't get in the way of your work or when it's in storage.
